3 Comments Review: Does Your Perfume Make You Feel Madly In Love?

August 21, 2011

Lovestruck by Vera Wang is described as "a modern twist on Romeo and Juliet, it's all about Vera's interpretation of being madly in love." Vera Wang's Princess has always been my signature scent, but I'm willing to say this may be my new addiction. Click the button below to read more about the scent!
Perfume can be purchased at Sephora.

Lovestruck is "Feminine. Romantic. Spontaneous."
The first time I smelled the sweet scent of Vera Wang Lovestruck was in magazine ad, which is a good way to get an initial impression of a perfume, but it's not a suitable way to persuade anyone into immediately purchasing the perfume, so I decided to go to a department store to find out more about the scent. Keep in mind, this perfume is very new and quite a few stores don't even carry it yet, so I was excited when I finally found the beautiful bottle adorned with the wispy maroon "bouquet" on top. Before spending the minimum of about $50 for 1 ounce of this flirty fragrance, I asked if I could try a sample first, and the employee gladly obliged. This is a great idea for anyone buying perfume; make sure you test drive before you commit. Here's why:

1. The perfume is going to smell one way on a tester strip and completely different on your skin because of your body chemistry (and everyone's chemistry is different.)
2. Perfumes have top, middle, and bottom notes. When you first apply perfume, you will smell all of the notes, but mostly the top notes. After 30 or more minutes, it will fade to mostly middle notes, and by the end of the day, you're going to smell like the bottom notes.

I recommend wearing your sample of the perfume for a few days to be sure you like it and it doesn't give you a headache. Anyway, back to the scent. To me, it smells very sweet and sugary like candy at first, but fades to a beautiful floral and it smells warm and comforting by the end of the day. This means the description of the perfume is very accurate. Below I've included a list of the ingredients, and what each ingredient smells like:

Top Notes: Pink Guava (Warm, sweet fruit) & Mandarin (Fruit that's sweeter than an orange)
Middle Notes: Tuberose (A warm, sweet flower) & Lotus Blossom (A fruity, tropical, flower)
Bottom Notes: Precious Woods (Warm and comforting) & Sheer Musk (Warm and earthy)

So the next time you have a chance, be sure to smell Vera Wang Lovestruck if you love scents that smell flirty and feminine. Needless to say, now it's the prettiest part of my perfume collection.

@inmyhansonshirt I'm glad I've convinced you! It smells wonderful.

@KTisaQT: I'm glad you like it too, I have a feeling it will be just as popular as Princess :)
